The November 18, 2025 Board of Directors meeting included the discussion and approval of a change to the company Bylaws to no longer require mailing notices to customers at risk of disconnect due to nonpayment.
Water bills are due by the 16th of each month, after which a 15% late fee will be added to the current month's bill if it is unpaid. Water service will be disconnected 30 days after the due date, once 2 months of bills have gone unpaid. A $65 reconnection fee will be applied to the account after the water is disconnected.
We offer a variety of convenient payment options, including online bill pay, automatic payments, and payment by phone. Our Member Service Office also accepts in-person payments by credit card, check, cash, or money order.
All paper bills are mailed out by the 1st of each month. If you have not received your bill by the 10th, please contact our office to request your balance.
The Jefferson Communities Water System, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation organized on December 7, 1998, to construct and operate a water distribution system in Jefferson County, Florida.
Funding for the construction of Phase I of the system, which became operational during 2003, was provided by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and a grant and loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Phase I consists of three wells, two water towers, 94 miles of water lines and serves approximately 840 customers.
Phase II was completed in May 2010. This added water lines to serve an additional 400 customers and generators at all three well sites to guarantee the supply of water during electrical outages.
